Stainless Steel UNS S30400 plates are a popular type of non-magnetic, chromium, and nickel alloy steel. Our SS 304H perforated plates are commonly used in high-stress applications, making them ideal for the automobile and aircraft industries.
These plates have strong design strength at high temperatures, particularly between 1200°F and 1400°F (649°C to 760°C), which is why they are also considered for advanced reactor designs. ASTM A240 SS 304 sheets offer decent workability, although not as much as free machining stainless steel. Soldering SS 304L cold-rolled plates can be challenging due to issues like cracking. Stainless Steel 316 plates are suited for gas–tungsten–arc and gas–metal arc processes, and their high molybdenum content provides excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy’s stability during welding, aided by niobium, helps prevent inter-granular cracks. SS 304H plates also have good machinability in solution-treated conditions, making them similar to carbon and low-alloy steels in terms of microstructure.
