Incoloy 825 is an iron-chromium-nickel alloy that also contains titanium, copper, and molybdenum. It offers better resistance to corrosion in water compared to the 800 alloys, although they are otherwise similar. This alloy is commonly used in pollution-control equipment, acid production, oil and gas piping, pickling equipment, and nuclear fuel reprocessing. Incoloy 800, 800HT, and 825 flanges each have unique properties. Incoloy 800 flanges offer good corrosion resistance in acidic environments, moderate resistance to sulfur-containing atmospheres, and strong resistance to carburization and oxidation at high temperatures. They also have excellent strength and creep-rupture properties at elevated temperatures.
Incoloy 825 flanges are highly resistant to phosphoric and sulfuric acids and perform well against both oxidizing and reducing acids. They offer good protection against crevice and pitting corrosion and maintain strong mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures, up to approximately 1000°F. Pressure walls can be used up to 800°F. The features of Incoloy 800HT flanges are similar to those of Incoloy 800.
